I am a member of the Leadership Team and an instructor here at TDT. I was born in May of 1996 and have been with TDT since the summer of 2011 when I joined TDT as a student. By the fall of 2012 I began teaching and enjoyed my role in teaching and ministering to youth. Over the years, I have learned more than just how to dance and teach. I have learned self-confidence and the importance of leading by example. I love being a part of this ministry and would really say that the people here have become another extension of my family. Some of my favorite dances include Waltz, Jive, Polka, and Quickstep. When I am not on the dance floor or in a teaching capacity, you can still find me playing music on the guitar and banjo, serving within my church, or just enjoying the great outdoors with friends. I finished a four-year trade apprenticeship in July 2020 and now work full time as an electrician. I continue to enjoy working with my hands and developing new skills in the trades.
I am looking forward to meeting new students each year and I sincerely hope that you join and help us maintain a friendly, welcoming, and fun-filled atmosphere here at TDT.
Hello, I am Caleb Stettler! I am one of the lead instructors here at TDT. I have been a part of TDT since 2009. During my time here, I have served in multiple capacities. I have taught the following classes: FootSteps, Intro, Intermediate 1 and 2, and on occasion some steps at Advanced. It is hard to say what my favorite dance is. I love the challenge each dance has to bring. I also have been a member of the Leadership Team since the summer of 2013, as well as a member of the Exhibition Team since 2011. Now, here are some fun facts about me! I have played baseball my whole life, usually in the outfield. I enjoy all outdoor activities and have recently been interested in woodworking. My wife, Lindsey, and I have three pets: two golden retrievers and a rescue tabby cat. I have a full-time job in roofing, and I really enjoy construction as well. Being a part of TDT through the years has not only taught me amazing dance skills, but what it also means to be a leader personally and professionally. Most importantly, it has made me aware of what my responsibilities are in marriage with Lindsey. I truly love this ministry, and I am so excited to meet you!
This is my eleventh year at That Dance Thing and my nineth year on the Leadership Team. My favorite dance is the Waltz because the pace makes it ideal for conversing with a partner on a more personal level. I feel that TDT has helped develop my professional confidence through emphasis on social skills, while still allowing me to maintain a laid back and jovial personality. I find TDT’s tagline “Grooming Teens for Life” as an undeniable truth while I progress into the working world as a young adult.
Hello, I am Joshua Pierce. I am 23 years old and have been at TDT for 12 years. I am a fan of good jokes and terrible puns. Two of my hobbies outside of TDT are auto maintenance and reading. Lastly, I am a firm advocate for the rights of pineapple to be on pizza!
In my time at TDT I have developed a more empathetic view of the concerns of others. I have also developed more confidence and been afforded the opportunity to make good friends that I don’t think I would have met anywhere else. I am told that I entered TDT as an angry 12-year old and have ended up as a cool and mellow instructor!
I’ve been a part of That Dance Thing since 2016 and I’ve been a part of the Leadership Team since 2018. I have always enjoyed being a part of TDT and I have not only learned how to dance, but also to lead well, and ultimately how to truly be myself. I enjoy teaching students how to dance as much as I love to dance. It’s amazing to see a class of students learn a step and really enjoy it. TDT has been one of the greatest decisions of my life.
My name is Karielle Belski. This is my fifth year at TDT, and my fourth year on the Leadership Team. My favorite dance would probably be the swing or the tango. I love TDT for many reasons, but mostly because I love to dance! I also enjoy singing, acting, and writing.
When I first came to TDT, I didn’t like talking to strangers or being expected to start a conversation. However, after my first semester, I realized there were more important lessons TDT had to offer, not just dancing. One lesson was how to carry on a conversation and be a friend to others. It’s hard to enjoy a dance, even if you know the steps, if you don’t take time to be a good friend. Through TDT, I was able to branch out and start conversations. My lessons learned from TDT have expanded to other places, where now I can truly be the person God wants me to be.
Hi my name is Grace Seo! I have been attending TDT since I was 13! My favorite dances are the Waltz and Rumba! Outside of TDT I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing soccer and volleyball, and pursuing my love of photography. TDT has taught me many lessons and one of those is how to follow and trust my dancing partner. I have learned how to follow my partner, knowing that even if I don’t know the steps or moves, I can trust them to lead me. This is not only something we practice at TDT, but more importantly it applies to my walk with Christ. I have grown to follow the Lord with confidence, knowing that He will establish a path for me. The steps I take each and every day happen for a reason and He has a plan and purpose behind each and every one of them. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve and dance with you!
My name is Evan Dunnavant. I have been a part of TDT since 2018, and a part of leadership since 2023. Some of my hobbies include soccer, target shooting, auto repairs, and of course, dancing. TDT has been a large part of my life, and I don’t know where I’d be in life without the manners, conversational skills, and confidence I have gained from this ministry. As I continue learning to become a teacher, I look forward to the many more years of fun and dancing at TDT.
Hello! I am April Miller. I have been around That Dance Thing since 2021 and have learned more than I ever could've expected. I had already known a little about ballroom dance before arriving at TDT, but I had never seen it illustrated through such a Christ-centered lens before. Ballroom dance displays a beautiful picture of what it is to be a follower of Christ, allowing and trusting Him to lead you through life and all of the unknowns. The gentleman leads with strength and grace so that the lady is able to follow with assurance, knowing he will guide her. What freedom that brings! My favorite dances would have to be the Waltz, Swing, and Foxtrot.Outside of this ministry, I am a Manager at Sonshine Folk School Farm and enjoy helping teens learn agriculture and construction.
When you come to TDT, I hope you find freedom in who God has called you to be and joy as you worship Him on the dancefloor.
Hi, my name is Julia Rimbey. I have been with TDT since 2017. My favorite dances are the Rumba and the Tango. When I am not at TDT, you can find me hiking with friends, going to musicals, or developing my photography skills. Many people think of TDT as just learning how to dance, but it is so much more than that! In my years at TDT, I have learned the art of conversation. I have learned the strengths in leading and the importance in following. I have even met some of my best friends at TDT! But most importantly, TDT teaches you how to get out of your comfort zone and pushes you to be the best that you can be. It is such a wonderful community to be a part of. I am looking forward to spending a great year with all of you!
Hi! My name is Ellison Rimbey. I started dancing at TDT in 2017. I love all of the dances, but the waltz will always be my favorite.
I have many hobbies and interests. Some of my favorite ones include: soccer, running, baking, and beating my family and friends at board games.
It feels like just yesterday when I walked through the doors my first night, greeted by such welcoming and smiling faces. It didn't take long for me to fall in love with TDT. The dancing, the friends I've made, and the life lessons I've learned, are things that will stay with me forever!
Hello, I’m Matti Swistock! I’ve been part of TDT since 2016 and joined the Leadership Team in 2023. Some of my favorite dances are waltz, cha cha, and polka. In my free time, I love to read, spend time with my siblings, and take scenic drives. One of my favorite things about TDT is the confidence and social skills students gain throughout the year. It’s amazing to see once shy, quiet students become vocal and confident in themselves among their peers, and even adults, inside and outside of TDT. Another excellent aspect of TDT is the focus on glorifying God with our actions and showing Him through our work.
