TDT is held 17 Friday evenings during the school year. There are usually four theme nights and two formal balls, the Christmas Ball and the Spring Ball.
The student population varies each year but typically is about 150 students aged 12 to 18.
The evening runs from 6:15 pm until 10:00 pm. The first hour is class instruction followed by a half hour of etiquette. This is followed by a second hour of instruction and a half hour of refreshments. The last hour consists of dancing with all the classes together.
The fee is currently $265 for a student. If siblings are also registered the fee is $215 for each additional student. Modest scholarships are available.
The TDT dress code is not designed to impose a particular mode of dress on the students. It is designed to have the students "step up" in appearance as a sign of respect for those around them and the nature of ballroom dancing, if only on Friday evenings. We seek to maintain modesty and the sense of comfort that comes from wearing clothes that will stay in place even during fast dance moves.
TDT Lite consists of five evenings during the summer months. Each evening runs from 6:00 pm till 9:00 pm. TDT Lite is a great way for new students to be introduced to ballroom dance in a smaller group.
